Clinton Barkhouse discovered his passion for magic at the young age of 10 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

What started as a simple hobby soon evolved into a lifelong journey when his family relocated to Brantford at age 13. Performing magic for small groups not only helped Clint overcome his shyness but also filled him with confidence and joy. Inspired by the happiness he brought to others, he pursued magic professionally—spreading laughter and excitement through enchanting performances.

The Early Years

With his father working in Hamilton as a chemist and his mother unable to drive, Clint had to get creative between ages 13 and 16. He placed a free classified ad in a community newspaper as a magician for hire! Without a vehicle, Clint offered pickup and drop-off options to customers or used taxis to get to performances.

In 1987, Clint officially began performing at events and private parties, quickly gaining a loyal customer base. With unwavering support from his father—who even sold his car to buy a truck for Clint’s magic equipment—his childhood hobby blossomed into a thriving family business. Throughout his teenage years, his father would drive him to gigs, helping him connect with local audiences.

Growing Success & Bigger Crowds

As Clint gained recognition, he appeared on radio, television, and newspapers, turning Magic By Clint into a beloved name. He performed at larger events and agricultural fairgrounds, and eventually at major venues, including the Caledonia Fair, where he entertained audiences of over 1,000 people!

His journey—from battling shyness to performing in front of enormous crowds—is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance.

​

A Career Built on Magic & Resilience

Clint has spent decades mesmerizing audiences with mechanical magic tricks, featuring brightly decorated props that add enchantment to every show. Each performance feels like an interactive game, sparking curiosity and excitement for all ages.

​

However, magic wasn’t just an art—it was a way of overcoming personal hurdles.

At 19, tragedy struck when Clint’s parents lost their family home in 1989, forcing him to pause his magic career. He took jobs at Canada Post as a mail handler and mail sorter in Brantford Ontario. Then later employed at another company and worked as a forklift operator before settling down with his first wife, Tina.

Determined to revive his business, Clint successfully obtained grant funding through The Brantford Business Initiative Unlimited Program—an Ontario government pilot program—allowing him to take a business course and turn his passion into a professional enterprise.

In 1993, Clint staged his first large-scale illusion show, Spectacular Magic, at The Sanderson Centre in Brantford. With a choreographer, theatrical staff, and a cast of dancers, Clint proved that magic is not only entertainment but a true production art.

Overcoming Life’s Challenges

Despite facing personal hurdles—including becoming a single dad raising his daughter full-time—Clint persevered.

​

Later, he rebranded his business as Magic 4 Parties, focusing on children’s party entertainment. However, Clint had to pause his work once again to care for his daughter during a life-threatening illness. Thankfully, she made a near full recovery for most part, allowing Clint to reignite his magic career—but then the 2020 pandemic hit, halting his plans once again.

During lockdowns, he adapted by launching Magic 4 Parties Online Magic Shop, providing magic products to customers across Canada.

​

Now, in 2025, Clint and his daughter Kayla continue to live in London, Ontario, where Clint has rebranded Magic 4 Parties back into Magic By Clint Barkhouse—legally registered as a business in Ontario!

​

Bringing Magic to Families Once Again

Now in his 50s and navigating health challenges, Clint has thoughtfully designed his magic business to accommodate his needs while continuing to share joy, wonder, and laughter with audiences.

His magic shows are tailored for family-friendly entertainment, featuring comedy magic that is age-appropriate for all ages. Clint specializes in children’s birthday parties, community center events, and outdoor gatherings at parks.

Magic & Accessibility

Clint prioritizes latex-free performances—meaning no balloon tricks or balloon animals—to accommodate children with allergies and healthcare-related needs.

Additionally, Clint uses artificial animals instead of live animals, preventing messes or risks for guests.

His main performing companion is Rocky the Raccoon!
